How this site makes money, and the ways it does not.

The current position
At the time of writing this site carries no advertising, no affiliate links, no sponsored content and no paid placement. Nobody has paid to appear here, to be recommended here, or to be left out.
You can verify most of that yourself: the site loads nothing from any third party, so there is no ad network or affiliate script to find. Every request a page makes goes to this domain.
Why the site exists
It is a set of static files. There is no server-side processing, no database and no per-visit cost beyond bandwidth, which makes it cheap enough to run without needing to monetise every visitor. It exists because the tools are useful and the existing options are cluttered.
Recommendations are unpaid
Where a guide points you to another site, a piece of software, or a different tool, that is an editorial judgement and nobody paid for it. Where a page recommends one of our own tools over another, that is also an editorial judgement — and since all of them are free, we have no financial reason to prefer one.
If that ever changes
Should this site take advertising, add affiliate links or publish sponsored content in future, we commit to the following:
- This page will be updated first, before the change goes live, with the date and the nature of the arrangement.
- Paid or affiliate links will be labelled clearly at the point of the link, not only in a policy page you would have to go looking for.
- Sponsored content will be labelled as sponsored in the page itself.
- The tools will stay free and stay client-side. Whatever changes, your data will not start being sent to a server.
- Advertising will never be allowed to determine what the guides say. A recommendation is worthless the moment it is for sale.
Analytics
No analytics are in use at present. If any are added they will be cookieless and aggregate, and the privacy policy will be updated to name the tool before it is deployed.
Corrections
If you believe something here is misleading, or you spot an unlabelled commercial relationship that we have missed, please tell us at contact@converter-hex.com. We will correct it and note the correction.
